Fairisle and Steeking

Fairisle and Steeking

In this workshop you will work on a fairisle piece which will be knitted in the round and then steeked. Melanie will show you how to strand and weave the yarns, holding yarn in two hands. You will steek, reinforce and finish your knitted piece with a decorative border. You need to be able to confidently knit and purl, cast on and cast off to get the most from this workshop.
Participants will need to bring a 3.75mm circular needle at least 80cm long for magic loop knitting in the round or 3.75mm DPNs, scissors, a 3.75mm crochet hook and 2 stitch markers.
