Professional Finishing

Professional Finishing

This course aims to help those knitters who want to give their knitted pieces a professional finish. Techniques covered include tension, using the correct cast-on for the project, shaping techniques, professional buttonholes, picking up stitches, short-row shaping and three-needle cast-off for shoulder seams, blocking and pressing, and sewing up using mattress stitch. Participants are asked to prepare a little homework beforehand by knitting up 2 squares using a DK weight yarn and 4mm needles, casting on 28 sts and working in stocking stitch for 34 rows. Also, please bring along size 3.25mm, 4mm and 4.5mm knitting needles, and a small sewing kit.
