Professional Finishing Techniques

Professional Finishing Techniques

The finishing of a knitted project is all too often rushed in the maker’s efforts to wear the garment. If anything, this stage of the process is the most important, especially if the pieces have been knitted with much care and huge amounts of time. This workshop emphasises the importance of the finishing techniques required if something is to be looked upon as “handmade” and not “homemade”. A professional looking finish can be achieved by using many tips and techniques that once learned will never be forgotten. The day includes buttonholes and bands, picking up stitches, short row shaping, mattress stitch and grafting.
