Hollywood A-listers are traditionally known for forking out obscene amounts on the latest clothing, but this doesn't mean that all stars follow this trend.
In fact, Amanda Seyfried, who currently stars in the new cinematic version of Les Miserables, revealed recently that she has more of a make do and mend attitude when it comes to fashion.
The Mamma Mia actress has impressed on the red carpet as she promotes her new flick while wearing a selection of gorgeous Alexander McQueen gowns.
However, at home she isn't afraid to keep returning to her favourite pieces of clothing, so much so that she recently told the January issue of InStyle magazine that she has been learning DIY techniques to ensure they stay in tip top condition.
One of her favourite designs is a pair of trousers, which Amanda admitted she couldn't face not salvaging when they started to become a little worn.
"Alexander Wang made some black cashmere pants that are my go-tos. I only have one pair, and they're moth-eaten," she told the publication.
"I went to crochet class and learned how to make cashmere patches for them," she went on to reveal.
Crocheting isn't the only craft Amanda enjoys, as she is also partial to a bit of knitting.
"I have to do lots of things at the same time. It's an obsessive compulsive thing. So when I'm on the elliptical machine, which I do almost every day, I have to be knitting, playing Sudoku and listening to things," she explained.
Crocheting and knitting are brilliant for thrifty people, looking to give their clothing an extra lease of life.
