The Brecon Beacons National Park is welcoming Llandovery Sheep Festival this weekend.
Excitement is building ahead of the third annual event, with thousands of people expected to flock to Wales to join in with the packed programme of wool and sheep-related activities.
Taking place in the north-west corner of Brecon Beacons National Park on September 29th and 30th the woolly weekend will be focusing on natural fibres with a woollen sack race and numerous stalls selling high quality woollen gifts.
Visitors can watch sheep dog trials, take in walks, view a fireworks display and have a peek at traditional sheep shearing.
Musical entertainment comes from Luke James, Llandovery Male Voice Choir, Desperation and many more, while literary talent will also be highlighted by Welsh authors and illustrators, who will be exploring their heritage through readings and story-telling.
Discussing this creative event, organiser Fiona Walker said: "The previous two Llandovery Sheep Festivals have been an enormous success, and we're confident that this year's programme will attract even more Sheep Festival fans this time around - there really is something for everyone."
"Here in Llandovery we're proud of our heritage and local folklore, and this festival really shows off what's great about this unique town," she went on to add.
The event hopes to showcase some of the best of British wool breeds, as well as some great craftsmanship in the form of knitted and crocheted works.
You don't have to be a knitting expert to get involved, as the festival is hoping to raise awareness and offer helpful advice and information surrounding wool and crafts.
The only thing to be careful of could be the weather, as the event takes place outdoors.
However, Catrin Parish-Marks, sustainable tourism officer for Brecon Beacons National Park Authority claims: "There is always a warm welcome in Llandovery and we wish the organisers all the best for this year's festival.
"Hopefully woolly jumpers will be optional!"
