Volunteer knitters are being sought by a museum in west Cornwall, which is looking to boost its displays and interactive activities.
The Cable Stitchers knitting group is appealing for new members who can help with one of their biggest projects to date, helping make fashion items and creative displays for the Porthcurno Telegraph Museum.
Meeting twice a month to make weird and wonderful woollen items, the club has become adept at assisting with educational visits, creating unusual items such as chicken drumsticks and basking sharks in a short space of time, the Cornishman reports.
Schools and tourist groups have all benefitted from their hardwork and volunteer coordinator Janet Standring said that the Cable Stitchers' work was essential.
"The work that the Cable Stitchers carry out is for the benefit of the museum. It is used in displays in the museum and for work with schools. Their work is vital to the museum," Ms Standring told the paper.
With such a wide array of exciting and adventurous items to make the group is always on the lookout for new members, especially those who already have some experience of making knitted toys and unusual clothing.
But, that being said, people keen to learn are also advised to pop down to the museum every second and fourth Thursday where they can be helped to improve their skills.
Those who can't make it to the site on the weekday afternoon sessions, however, are still encouraged to get involved and put their knitting talents to good use.
Outreach knitters who want to help but are unable to travel can receive their materials in the post and volunteer their time by making handcrafter items from home.
Members also have the chance to exhibit their work regularly, with the most recent display taking place on Saturday January 12th at St Buryan Farmers' Market.
