Dublin's Knitting and Stitching Show nears

If you missed out on the London Knitting and Stitching Show earlier this month then fear not, as there are two more events in November.

Following on from the successful Alexandra Palace exhibition, you can still catch the Dublin event from November 1st to 4th, or alternatively if you're in northern England, why not flock to Yorkshire and check out Harrogate's Knitting and Stitching Show between November 22nd and 25th?

These shows are described as being the definitive and best exhibitions for lovers of textiles in the UK and Ireland, covering not only knitting and stitching but many more craft forms.

This includes crochet, embroidery, patchwork, felt-making, quilting, shibori dyeing, card-making, jewellery-making and felt-embossing, among others.

Each day sees hundreds of exhibitors selling specialist supplies and craft produce, many of which are beautifully unique and unlike anything you're likely to find on the high street.

As well as being a great shopping opportunity, you can visit galleries from leading artists and groups and there are hundreds of different workshops on offer to introduce you to new subjects or hone your existing skills, taking your craft abilities to the next level.

Beginners can also get involved with the First Steps Lounge and the Upcycling Area, where unwanted clothing and fabric can be creatively turned into all manner of items.

The Dublin Knitting and Stitching Show is the 17th annual event held in Ireland and has seen its highest sale in tickets ever, meaning it's essential that visitors sign up soon.

Advanced booking for the show are already up by 30 per cent, according to the Irish Independent, representing the recent demand for creative and practical skills.

Taking place in the RDS at the beginning of next month, it also hopes to capture a younger, style-conscious, audience, following the high profile wool has been given throughout September and October's prestigious Fashion Weeks.
