A group of 100 people are bringing crocheting and yarnbombing to the streets of Liverpool, in an effort to spread skills and brighten up the city.
The Happy Hookers are a collection of enthusiasts both young and old, who meet to share their crochet, knitting and craft ideas, while having a good old natter at the same time.
Liverpool Echo reports that the club is now branching out by showcasing their works outside through yarnbombing and guerrilla knitting.
For Chinese New Year the group impressed earlier this month by decorating Bold Street with a mass of colourful snakes.
Co-founder Gemma Darracott, 31, told the newspaper: "The yarnbomb at Chinese New Year was a huge job so we got there at about five o'clock in the morning when it was still dark.
"You do get quite an adrenaline rush even though it is only wool."
After setting up the group two years ago with her friend Joanne Finch, 37, Happy Hookers has gone from strength to strength, holding fortnightly sessions in the community.
Ms Finch admitted: "When we first started crochet wasn't very fashionable but over the last 12 months we've really noticed a difference. Crochet has become a lot trendier with more and more people wanting to make their own stuff."
The club is happy to welcome people from every type of background and experience level and encourages everyone to enjoy a coffee and some cake, as well as some all-important nattering.
Over the past two years, the Liverpool Happy Hookers have made their way through thousands of balls of yarn, and taken part in various yarnbombing projects, such as the Brazilica Festival last year.
Its next target is set to be The Threshold Festival on Jamaica Street between March 8th and 10th, however the exact details of what has been planned is being kept firmly under wraps.
Collaborating with Twisted Stitches and the Purlesque Knitting Group, it is sure to be their most outlandish project yet.
