Harry Styles outed as a knitting enthusiast

We already know that there are lots of celebrities who like to unwind by picking up their knitting needles and colourful yarn to get crafty in their downtime.

However, what we didn't know was that Harry Styles is apparently one of them. An unnamed source has told the Daily Star that the One Direction star likes to knit in between tour dates to save him being bored and stressed out.

"Harry has always been able to knit, he finds it relaxing. But he's never put as many hours in as he is doing at the moment. He says it's the only way he can unwind after hours of listening to fans screaming," said the Where We Are world tour insider.

The other band members have allegedly been ribbing the 20-year-old for his pastime, but he doesn't care. In fact, they could all benefit from it, as Harry has said he might just knit the other lads some Christmas presents this year.

Given the tabloids' penchant for being somewhat economical with the truth, we don't know if this story's true or not, but we love the idea that even the coolest boy bands are now getting in on the knitting trend that's sweeping the nation.

If Harry is on the lookout for ideas of what to make, he could start with woolly knee pads. Last week, Liam Payne took a tumble on stage as the group performed in Ireland.

Joking aside though, we have a great pattern for a Woodcutter block colour cardigan, which uses wool and alpaca yarn. It looks great and is bang on-trend for the younger man, so we hope to see One Direction sporting something very similar in their photoshoots soon.

And Harry shouldn't be short of knitting time over the coming months, as the band recently announced they will be heading to Australia next February to tour all the biggest stadia Down Under following their jaunt around the UK.

It's no wonder the lad needs to relax and de-stress!
