Since her warbling voice arrived on the music scene with tracks such as Video Games, Lana Del Rey has carved out her very own niche in both music and fashion.
Her love of 1960s and 70s gear is forever evident in her styling, as she rocks vintage chic through floral prints and bouffant hairstyles.
One trend she's become particularly attached to appears to be crocheted dresses, with Lana wearing a beautiful duck egg blue Topshop dress at last weekend's Latitude Festival.
Performing some of her trademark hits on stage, she gave off a vintage feminine vibe in the frock, which bore a classy mini Peter Pan collar, three-quarter sleeves and a well-defined waist complete with ribbon detail.
The ribbon appears to be hers, as the pale blue high street dress is actually beltless, but it added a really personal touch with a cute bow fastening at the back.
Lana's crocheted dress is spot on for the festival season, finishing mid-thigh, leaving plenty of room for either flats or wellies depending on the weather!
To recreate this look, the simplest way to get to grips with crochet is to use it as an overlay fabric on top of a simple slip or skater-style dress.
That way you've already got the shape set and you're free to experiment with different patterns to get the desired effect with the right level of tension.
Crochet needn't be the mainstay of your festival outfit, as Lana herself is keen to use it in accessories as well.
Using a light summer yarn in cream you could craft a bobbled headband to wear in front of your vintage beehive style or perhaps pick a colour to match your ensemble and practice with a ruffled crocheted or knitted belt to cinch you nicely in at the waist.
Once you've mastered accessories then you're well on your way to larger and more intricate projects.
