Lauren Conrad might be one of Hollywood's most famous faces but it seems that she has been harbouring a secret hobby.
The Hills star and TV personality claims to be addicted to knitting, and has been hard at work creating plenty of scarves for her friends and boyfriend, William Tell, to wear during the autumn-winter 2012 season.
In an interview with People.com, she said: "I make scarves for everybody. It's like a new addiction of mine."
But while she might be enjoying spending her free time knitting and purling away, Lauren admits that her skills are so far fairly limited.
"All I know how to do is make a scarf, but I really enjoy knitting so I can't like give those things away. I keep making people wear them and nobody even really wants them anymore!" she joked.
The up-and-coming fashion designer has long had an interest in the latest styles, having worked on publications such as Teen Vogue, and told the magazine that she was looking forward for winter weather to finally set in so that she can change her wardrobe accordingly.
"I'm excited for the weather to change so I can finally wear some of it [winter wardrobe], because I've gotten some really great boots," Lauren said.
She also went on to give her style tips for winter, signalling that knitwear and wool would be very on-trend.
"It's all about texture this season, so whether it's the big chunky knits or the mixing in of leather pieces", the 26-year-old said she couldn't wait to start layering up her look.
If you're looking for a snug new scarf pattern for winter then why not have a look at this Elise scarlet pattern from Kim Hargreaves?
It uses Rowan's Big Wool and is designed to be a relatively simple project, suitable for a novice knitter.
