This weekend saw crowds of knitters flock to the Marriott Marquis in New York for the prestigious Vogue Knitting Live.
Featuring a series of fashion shows, lectures, workshops and seminars, this famous event ensured it had something for everyone.
From seasoned professionals to beginners who have just completed their first ever knitting pattern, it was a memorable occasion for all.
The Examiner reports that there were a number of fashion trends on display for anyone looking to stay abreast of this season's most popular looks.
This included red yarns in poppy and burgundy shades, as well as a host of neutral hues.
Colour was a popular element in all the designs, with stripes proving prevalent, especially with the use of self-striping yarns giving thicker panels.
Wider necklines were featured heavily in the runway shows and workshops, as well as colour-blocking and plenty of shawls.
Shawls are a great project idea for beginner knitters looking to move on from scarves and hats to something a little larger and more impressive. They therefore sparked much interest from novice attendants at the show, encouraging questions on shaping and ensuring edges are nice and neat.
One show that was certainly a hit, according to the newspaper, was the Knit, Swirl collection display by Sandra McIver.
These featured various colour combinations and fibre blends in flattering one piece, one seam swirl jackets.
Her designs included swirl jackets with shawl collars, which can also be worn upside down, as well as coatigans (half cardigan, half coat) and a series of unique, colourful cover ups.
Fashion shows such as this can be really inspiring heading into spring, highlighting how to take designer looks and make them your own.
Vogue Knitting Live will continue across the US, bringing a host of famous designers and tutors together to discuss and showcase the next big trends in woollen wear. The next stop on the tour is Seattle.
