'Sewing-in ends' nightmare on multi stripe sweater!
I'm knitting a child's multi stripe sweater in Wool Cotton from an old Rowan book. Its got 8 colours, in a sequence that lasts 128 rows before repeating itself. The colour changes every 1-3 rows - the knitting I've done has a thick fringe of cut ends each side and I'm not sure this is right! Should I continue to cut the ends and resign myself to sewing them all in which will take a very very long time, or try carrying the wool(s) over and risking a thick rope at each side making the seams very bulky? Or are there any other techniques?
Any advice gratefully received!
