I’m knitting size L. I have a knotted mess at the beg & end of every yoke row.

I think I understand the yoke instructions to beg on Row 1 as a wrong side row. I should read wrong side rows from left to right on the chart. Dec 1 stitch at each end of the chart [row 1,2,3,4,6,8,2,4,6,8 are dec rows]. I read the right side rows from right to left.

I am decreasing 1 stitch inside the edges. Should I keep the first stitch & the dec stitch as stockinette?

I can’t “see” or “read” what the next xx stitches up to the 6-stitch repeat should be. (Inside the 6-stitch repeat, my patt is set up & building well row upon row.) What I’ve tried to do is go over to 1 stitch before the repeat section & read backwards in order to get anything that resembles the crossing stitches.

It’s a jumble right now & I wonder if I’m working this correctly. Perhaps I’m using an incorrect dec? Can you tell me which decrease method to use at beg & end, front & back?

Thanks ever so much for your help.

Also, is there a search feature for this forum? I can't seem to find one using firefox.
