“I love the constructed textile and have a fundamental interest in why we create and go beyond the purely functional or practical to embellish and decorate. I believe it’s an inherent human trait to construct a ‘fabric’ in order to catch, clothe, nurture or decorate. The acquisition of skills, techniques and the process of making, give me the inspiration and the desire to create, and give, with love.’’
Erika is passionate in promoting and developing ecologically and ethically resourced product and raw materials, which she believes has had a profound effect on how she now lives her life.
