Mallorca Deia & Sineu Illusion Locations Deia lies on the North West coast of Mallorca and is built on a hill in the middle of a valley in the ‘Serra de Tramuntana’ mountain range. This beautiful village is renown not only for its incredible surroundings but also for the American painter Norman Yanikun who spent many long summers at the Pension Sa Fonda in Deia during the 1950’s. The area has always been a favourite of artists, writers, musicians and celebrities; Andrew Lloyd Webber, Pierce Brosnan, Bob Geldolf and the late Princess of Wales to name a few. The exceptional beauty of the winding cobbled streets, the many flowers and the crumbling walls of the ancient church made Deia a very special location for our ethereal Illusion story. Sineu was the second location we used for the Illusion story. This interesting and ancient agricultural hill top town boasts over 1000 years of history and once was the capital of Mallorca. Situated in the centre of rural Mallorca, the wide streets of Sineu with its elegant sandstone buildings evoke an atmosphere of an ancient French rural town. Today Sineu is renown for its weekly market. Started in 1306 by King Jaume II, the Sineu market is celebrated in the main square each Wednesday and is one of the oldest and most interesting markets of Mallorca.
