Sasha Kagan’s design trademarks are flowers and foliage which she stylises in a unique and beautiful way. Sasha lives in a rather remote part of Wales where she has a large garden abundant with native wild flowers and more formal planting. Sasha is a nature buff and enjoys nothing better than wandering her extensive garden looking for inspiration.
Sasha studied fine art and printmaking at degree level and went on to study at the Royal College of Art. It was whilst there that she became interested in the work of William Morris and the creativity of the Arts and Crafts movement of the late 1800s. This is an influence that can still be seen in her knitted fabrics today.
Sasha regularly contributes her designs to Rowan magazines and continues to publish her own books and patterns, she also produces an impressive number of packaged kits. Sasha is a renowned workshop tutor. She has lectured and taught throughout the world and was recently recognised as an influential figure within the knitting world at the prestigious Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
