Felted Tweed Yarn Lifestyle 1

The perfect balance of Merino wool and alpaca, while colourful flecks add personality

Tweeds have a long history in the British Isles where there has always been a need for woolen outerwear to keep people warm and dry in the damp climate. From this long heritage, Felted Tweed, and it’s cousin, Felted Tweed Aran, was born. Like tweed fabrics, this yarn is slightly rustic, but it has an inherent softness that comes from the Merino, and a slightly brushed texture enhanced by the alpaca.

From Fair Isle to cables, there’s no knitting this yarn doesn’t make better

The rich, complex colours of Felted Tweed Aran work equally well in modern intarsia, in traditional stranded knitting, on a cabled Aran, or in a simple stocking stitch design. When the yarn is knit, it magically melds into a fabric with a distinctive soft-focus texture, and the multiple hues take on a life of their own.
